“We were scrambling before, and the inventory management feature has defined our inventory. We know exactly where to look, where we can find our inventory, how much we have on hand, and that alone is worth the price we’re paying.”
Challenge | Managing a growing business and inaccurate inventory counts
When Melissa Hinnant was put on bedrest from a pregnancy complication, she grew restless with a need to create something to pass the time. With her childhood creativity rooted in DIY projects, Melissa found a love for knitting. A few pairs of lace leg warmers grew to many and her popularity and demand rose to create Grace and Lace. With a full studio, warehouse and growing inventory to manage, Grace and Lace needed a better way to track their inventory.
“We grew really fast and we had a ton of inventory coming in and going out, and we were constantly off on our inventory counts,” Grace and Lace Inventory Analyst Jennifer Macaulay said. “We were looking for something that would help us automate the process and keep our counts accurate.”
Solution | Automated processes and eCommerce integration
Altogether, the Texas-based company needed an all-in-one system that would handle everything from order processing to collaboration with other eCommerce integrations. Luckily, we integrate with a number of eCommerce solution companies, including Bigcommerce and ShipStation, both of which Grace and Lace utilize. Through these integrations Jennifer said they are able to sync products across platforms and automate processes like product location and quantity.
Results | Accurate product location & quantity, smooth launch processes
Thanks to our attentive service team Jennifer had a smooth launch process when implementing SkuVault with help on every phone call, every email, every step of the way. Before SkuVault they had to manually pick and package each product. Now, with inventory management tools like sales reports and quality control, Grace and Lace has had to slow down their process a bit more enabling them to catch mistakes earlier. “We were scrambling before, and the inventory management feature has defined our inventory. We know exactly where to look, where we can find our inventory, how much we have on hand, and that alone is worth the price we’re paying,” she said.
